On our QCFF on the Road page you can see special events from around the Quad Cities. You may catch us at a little league game, a local tennis tournament, parade, scouting event or one of the many festivals the QCA hosts. Quad City Chefs are battling it out in a competition this month. The first competition pitted Woodfire Grill Chef Blake Schar against Chef Russell Bolar of the Black Watch room of Pebble Creek. Every Monday this month, two culinary experts will test their skills. It all ends with a final showdown between the four winning chefs on Sunday August 2nd. It was a heated competition that took for weeks to complete. It began with 8 area chefs and three judges. It came down to 4 local chefs squaring off at the Isle of Capri Convention Center. This is the Iron Chef Competition... Quad City Style.
In some communities, the corner market is non-existent. It's been replaced by superstores and supermarket chains, but it's making a comeback. QC Family Focus Intern Shane Corcoran introduces us to a growing trend. It's one that allows you to invest in farming and as a result know more about the origin of the food you are eating.
