Fireside Knitting | |
Date
| Time
|
Every Tuesday | 6:30 pm |
Description
| |
People of all ages are invited to join Fairmount’s “Fireside Knitting” group which meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in front of the fireplace. This group has been meeting at the Library for more than four years, and during that time, they have donated their knitted/crocheted items to various social organizations throughout the Quad Cities. They’ve helped put hats on babies, given mittens to school kids, and created blankets for seniors. If you like to knit/crochet, and create items for others, just show up on Tuesday nights at the Fairmount Branch Library. You don’t need to know how to knit to join the group - they will teach you! You don’t even need your own supplies, they are provided. If you’d like to help the group out in other ways, they are always accepting washable yarn, knitting needles, and patterns. So if you’re doing some spring cleaning and want to get rid of these types of items, just bring them to the Fairmount Branch and the Fireside Knitters will use them. | |
